Nouva is an AI stylist that works with the clothes already hanging in your wardrobe. This page sets out what the app does, who operates it, how it is funded, and where the line sits between what we recommend and what we are paid for.
What Nouva is
Nouva is a mobile app that turns your own wardrobe into outfits. You photograph the clothes you already own, and the app reads each garment’s category, colour, cut and material. From there it assembles complete looks out of those pieces and scores each one for colour harmony — how the tones, contrasts and shades in a given combination actually work together.
The same wardrobe powers the rest of the app. Style Check scores an outfit you are already wearing from a mirror selfie and names the single change that would lift it most. Shop Scan answers the question you ask standing in a shop: whether an item is worth buying given what you already own, including whether you own something too close to it. In each case the answer is grounded in your clothes rather than in a generic trend feed.
Nouva is free to start and available on iOS and Android. There is a paid tier, Plus, which raises the limits. The section below sets out exactly how the app is funded.
Who operates it
Nouva is built and operated by Unique President Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The app, this website and the Nouva brand are owned by that same company — there is no separate publisher, licensee or reseller in between.
How Nouva makes money
We would rather state this plainly than leave it to be worked out from the small print. Nouva earns money in two ways, and only two.
Subscriptions
The app is free to use, with limits: twenty items in your wardrobe, and three AI outfits, three Stylist sessions and three Style Checks a week. Nouva Plus costs $9.99 a month, or $24.99 for three months, and raises those limits. Plus is bought inside the app through the App Store or Google Play — this website never takes payment or card details.
Affiliate commission
When Nouva suggests something to buy — a piece that would fill a real gap in your wardrobe — some of those links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer or affiliate network pays us a commission. The price you pay is the retailer’s own price: the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin and adds nothing to your basket.
Those are the only two revenue streams. We do not sell user data, and we do not sell placement inside the app.
When you buy through a suggestion in the app, Nouva may earn a commission.
Editorial independence
Two things fund Nouva, and neither of them buys a place in what you see.
The writing is our own
Every article on the Nouva blog is written for Nouva by the team behind the app. We do not republish, syndicate or scrape other publishers’ articles, and we do not run sponsored or paid guest posts. Where a piece compares Nouva to another app, it says so in the title.
Inspiration is embedded, never copied
The Inspiration feed shows public fashion posts through Instagram’s and Pinterest’s official embeds. Each image is served by the platform at the moment the feed loads and remains the property of its creator — nothing is copied, cached or re-hosted by us, and every look is attributed to its source with a link back to the original post.
Recommendations are ranked on fit, not on fee
When Nouva suggests something to buy, the order is decided by how well the piece works with the outfit and the wardrobe in front of it: colour, silhouette, formality and the items you already own. Placement is not for sale. No brand, retailer or network can pay to appear higher in a recommendation, and commission rates play no part in the ranking.
How your data is handled
You photograph your own clothes, so the app holds your photographs — that is the product. Unique President Ltd is the data controller for them. We do not sell your data and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
You can opt out of analytics, performance monitoring, crash reports and personalised ads in the app under Profile → Settings → Privacy, and deleting your account from inside the app purges your wardrobe with it.
